Details of Your Private Guided City and Museum Tour:
Our private guided tour begins at Heroes' Square, a symbolically important site in Austrian history. Here, you’ll get your first impression of the Hofburg's impressive architecture before we enter the Inner Courtyard. Surrounded by magnificent buildings, we’ll explore the origins and expansions of the Hofburg, which has developed over the centuries.
Our next stop is the Schweizerhof, the oldest part of the Hofburg, which retains the medieval origins of the complex. Here, you will gain insights into the earlier significance of the Hofburg before we dive into the Imperial Treasury, where we explore the origins of the Austrian Empire, the customs of the Habsburgs, and their fascinating history.
In the Imperial Treasury, you’ll see, among other treasures, the Imperial Crown, the insignia of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation, the Austrian Imperial Crown, and many other symbols of imperial power and rule. These artifacts are not only testaments to a glorious history but also of invaluable cultural value. The Treasury reveals the importance of the Habsburg monarchy and its connection to European history.
After the visit to the Treasury, we continue through the picturesque Burggarten, a green oasis in the heart of the city. Passing the Butterfly House and the Palm House, we follow the traces of the former city fortifications. We pass the Albertina, which is also part of the Hofburg complex, and reach Josefsplatz, surrounded by monumental buildings such as the National Library and the Winter Riding School – both of which are part of the expansive Hofburg complex.
To conclude, I’ll take you to the world-famous Spanish Riding School, home to the noble Lipizzan horses. The tour ends at the Michaelertor.
My private guided tour through the Wiener Hofburg and the Imperial Treasury offers you a comprehensive insight into the imposing Hofburg complex and the shaping role of the Habsburgs in Austrian and European history.

Recommendation:
If you’d like to learn more about imperial living styles and daily life at the imperial court, I recommend a tour of the Imperial Apartments and the Sisi Museum. There, you will see the private chambers of Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth and learn more about their dramatic life stories.
