Belvedere Palace, one of the most important Baroque buildings in Vienna, consists of two magnificent palaces: the Upper and Lower Belvedere. It was built in the early 18th century by the famous architect Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt as a summer residence for Prince Eugene of Savoy, one of the most successful military leaders of the Habsburg monarchy.
